The Foster Care Program
The Foster Care Program is a Child Placing Agency licensed by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Child Care Licensing Division. IES Children and Family Services, Inc. is comprised of foster homes located throughout the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. The agency provides basic foster care and treatment services for children ages 0-17 under the Conservatorship of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. The Agency also accepts referrals for youth between the ages of 18 to 22 who meet the requirements for Extended Care placement. The agency is responsible for coordinating placements and providing oversight to the foster homes ensuring that the children in our care receive all the necessary services according to their individual circumstances.
Typically, children in conservatorship may experience social, emotional or behavioral difficulties due to abuse or neglect. Children who are experiencing these types of difficulties need families that can provide them with support, guidance and nurturing on a temporary or permanent basis while they are in foster care. The agency implements individualized treatment plans for foster children and their families as we work jointly towards achieving the best possible outcome for everyone. We build on every child’s strengths to assist them in achieving their full potential while providing a stable alternative family experience.
The agency strives to provide services that are respectful of the many cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds while also providing the skills necessary for Independent Living. Our team of professionals offer support to each child in care through specialized and individualized services. Our trained and experienced foster parents and staff are committed to providing a safe and caring environment for children while they await permanency.
